The Style Outlets: Roppenheim Strasbourg

Working with one of the Outlet Retail Industry’s main players, Freeport, our novel design concept was selected for this important site on the River Rhine border between Germany and France. A small “town” was created in the style of a medieval Alsatian walled village in the many styles of architecture in the region known for its changing occupancy throughout history.

The new village (Village des Marques) comprises over a hundred shops, cafes, water areas, public spaces extensive landscaping, and all the styles from Romanesque, Germanic, Contemporary Modern and Baroque. Completed in April 2012 by the Dutch developer MAB following its acquisition of the un-built Freeport scheme, the completed scheme is now one of the most important destination retail experiences for the Strasbourg and Baden-Baden regions.
