Following a winning submission to a limited competition held by Arriva Bus Company for their bus station site in the centre of Newport, this fast track design and build scheme for a new replacement bus interchange and new retail units was completed fully let and operational in 18 months.

Adding much needed market-requirement units to the retail core of Newport it has been the catalyst for further upgrading and extension to this part of the town centre and introduced 4 new brands to the Isle of Wight.

It has also introduced escalators to the island for the very first time in its history! The scheme also refurbished an adjoining former Inland Revenue building on the corner for a flagship unit for Next.
