Retail Development of the Year 2008

Engle designed scheme, Eagles Meadow, Wrexham has won the Retail Development of the Year 2008 as awarded by Wales Business Insider at the industry recognised awards ceremony that took place in Cardiff. The award recognises retail developments with the ability to change a town or city in a positve way.

Rochdale Town Centre

Engle's design has been selected in a closely contested competition for the redevelopment of Rochdale Town Centre. The £250 million scheme backed by developer Wilson Bowden includes 350,000 sq ft of new retail floor space, cafes, bars, restaurants and a new arts centre.

Harlow Town Centre, Essex

Engle's competition winning scheme for Stockland Halladale includes retail, apartments, cinema, hotel, health club, restaurants and a new transport interchange. Attractive landscaped public spaces will be incorporated throughout. The plans include the development of a new public library.

Paris

The Practice went to Paris on it's annual winter study tour. As well as working on some serious team building, we studied The Musee du Quai Branly, designed by Jean Nouvel, built on the banks of the River Seine, in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower.
